Food carbon labelling (Sweden)

From July 2008, food in Sweden will be labelled if it has been deemed to have caused minimal climate impact during its growth and transport. Domestic fruit and vegetable growers can apply for the certification presently and the scheme is due to be expanded to dairy and meat products later in the year. Only organic and quality-assured products are presently eligible.

The scheme also aims to include fish, probably as part of a pan-nordic scheme (ENDS, 2008).
